Hours
The Recycling Center is open most Saturdays from 8 am to 12 pm. There is usually someone there to assist you.
All garbage is required to be in Town of Tilden bags and can be purchased from the attendants for $3.50 each or 10 for $35. It is illegal to leave garbage or recycling at the center when it is unattended. Tilden does not accept any furniture, construction materials, monitors, TVs or wooden stereos. Pharmaceuticals may be disposed of at any police department, please do not flush them or throw them away in the trash. Separating recyclables helps offset disposal cost to the township.
RECYCLING DUMPSTERS
Plastic bottles with a #1 or #2 recycle symbol are accepted. Plastic and glass are co-mingled. Make sure to rinse before recycling plastic and glass containers. All newspaper, slick, shiny paper, magazines, catalogs, office paper, and books without covers may be recycled together. All cardboard must be flattened.
BATTERIES/APPLIANCES/ELECTRONICS
Lead and rechargeable batteries are recycled. There is a fee to recycle kitchen appliances. No small electronic appliances, computers, monitors, or TVs are collected by the Town of Tilden.
STEEL & ALUMINUM
Please rinse tin cans before placing them in the steel recycling dumpster. Aluminum cans go in the Recycling Shed.
GARBAGE DUMPSTERS
Garbage must be in Town of Tilden garbage bags and may be purchased at the Recycling Center. All other garbage items must be approved by the attendants. There will be a minimum fee of $5 for items that do not fit into the bags.
